First, Carnival Horizon goes big with the two-screen Carnival Multiplex®, which brings together one theater packed with huge IMAX® action and one with 3D visuals, incredible motion effects and more! This ship keeps things flowing with an onboard waterpark that splashes you more than a little — Dr. Seuss WaterWorks™ splashes you oodles, with a little help from the wacky characters everybody loves. The Punchliner Comedy Club™ and Playlist Productions™ are just two of your top onboard entertainment picks, and they’re both focused on uniting you with unforgettable performances up on stage. The Cruise Hive Awards opened on October 1 and closed on Friday, December 22, with all valid votes tabulated to select the winners in each of the eight award categories.

Here, I'll outline what's new, what we loved and what could use some tweaks. Originally ordered for AIDA Cruises, the Jubilee was set to be built as a sister to the AIDAnova and the AIDAcosma before being transferred to Carnival Cruise Line in 2021. On most vessels, the burger counter is positioned on the Lido Deck, adjacent to the BlueIguana Cantina, which serves tacos and burritos.

The cruise line’s third Excel-class ship, Carnival Jubilee will share features from her sister ships, Mardi Gras, sailing from Port Canaveral since mid-2021, and Carnival Celebration, based in Miami since 2022. Highlights onboard include a roller coaster, expanded dining options, and a three-deck atrium on the starboard side of the ship that overlooks the ocean and converts to an entertainment venue at night. Cruising goes great with sunshine… and for a room where the family can expect a little extra of the sun’s gold streaming in through their window, check out a Family Harbor Ocean View stateroom with obstructed views. All Family Harbor staterooms feature a unique nautical décor inspired by the craft of seafaring itself. And while you sail along, the whole family will enjoy not only exclusive access to the nearby Family Harbor Lounge, but more great perks around the ship.

CARNIVAL CELEBRATION: GREAT FUN TOGETHER, ALL POWERED BY LNG

This ship was originally ordered for German cruise line AIDA Cruises, but a change of plans by parent company Carnival Corporation means that Carnival Jubilee will now join the Carnival fleet in 2023. The third ship in Carnival’s Excel Class, Carnival Jubilee, will launch in 2023. This ship will be almost identical to Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. Carnival Jubliee will sail out of Galveston, Texas offering week-long Caribbean itineraries. With new ships being launched at a rate close to one per year, it can be hard to keep track of which are the newest ships. Carnival Celebration had people talking before they even got their first look.

Big Chicken

You'll find some of his favorite recipes from those days on menu at the first-ever RedFrog® Tiki Bar — sip a Polynesian Punch, try a Jungle Bird, or get a little tongue-twisted ordering a Red's Rum Jumper. This poolside bar on Mardi Gras® spans two decks and transports you right to the land of Tiki. If you’ve strolled along New Orleans’ French Quarter in the evening, you’re not alone in feeling that mysteries and surprises lie around every corner. A French Quarter-styled zone on a new ship wouldn’t be complete without an unassuming little bar that feels like it’s always been there. Call us supernatural, but we’re sensing vacation fun in your future.

Unique Theme Nights You Shouldn’t Miss When on a Cruise Ship

The bar — along with several other dining venues and the onboard shops — wasn't open during my two-night sailing prior to the ship's first voyage with paying passengers. But each time I passed by it in Grand Central, one of the ship's six zones, I couldn't help staring. The Mardi Gras is a ship belonging to Carnival’s Excellence Class, also known as Excel Class, and is the sister ship of Carnival Celebration. With a capacity of 5,282 passengers based on double occupancy, it is named after a former Carnival cruise ship that sailed for two decades. The Miss Dominican Republic, Kimberly Jiménez, is the ship’s godmother. You know we definitely see our share of coastal areas, so it’s easy to imagine how special a place it is to us.

What inspired this area is no lessthan New Orleans itself… and if all this talk of NOLA has you half as hungry as weare, you’ll be pleased to hear that our French Quarter is lined with bars and eateriesworthy of their namesake. What’s more, you’re just steps away from sipping mystically at theFortune Teller bar, and definitely save time to browse some funky little shops. As with most things, the shiniest and most recently built hardware is often the most exciting.

Carnival Celebration – 2022

The whole family will also enjoy exclusive access to the nearby Family Harbor Lounge, plus more great perks around the ship. Even when you’re looking to the future, you still think about the past. So that’s why — if you were us — you might pay tribute to 50 years of Carnival fun and history by creating a space like The Golden Jubilee™! The décor transports you decades back through time, and this aesthetic is made of actual artifacts from Carnival ships of the past, mixed with design elements inspired by our earliest ships.

Havana Aft-View Extended Balcony

Go ahead and call Summer Landing 'the greatest chill spot at sea'... BBQ, so we're building a Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse™ into this zone so it always tastes like summer here with freshly-smoked faves designed by Guy Fieri and original Parched Pig® beers brewed just feet away. If you're wondering where the pool and whirlpool are, we're so alike, you and us... And that's why we're sure you're gonna love The Watering Hole, a poolside bar we're building for aficionados of backyard-style relaxation.

In addition to the vintage references, a well-executed ocean theme is carried throughout the ship. It starts with The Atlantic and The Pacific, the names of Carnival Jubilee's two main dining rooms. They feature light fixtures befitting the Great Hall at Hogwarts Castle and look as if they contain water bubbles. The vessel's original bell and ship plaque, both from 1986, are on display.

The 140,600-gross ton ship carries 3,260 guests in double occupancy, and is operating alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. Celebrity Ascent is the fourth vessel in the line’s Edge class, and features the popular Magic Carpet, a movable cantilevered deck that functions as a restaurant and bar. Balcony staterooms are proof that while it’s great to be cruisey… on vacation, breeziness is a virtue too. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Mardi Gras®, you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis. Designed for kicking back al fresco, you’re in for some amazing ocean views… views so stunning you’ll just have to feel ‘em to believe ‘em. Get all the comfy details about Balcony staterooms on Mardi Gras.

All signs point to ambiance — and serious flavor — so try a burger dressed up the way Guy likes it, or take it off-roading… to the nearby topping bar, where you can make it your own. Emeril’s second restaurant at sea does something a little different. Then it serves up international dishes… all with Emeril’s signature culinary flair! From one day to the next you’ll find new stuff on the menu — so make sure to come back and see what surprising specialties are ready to delight you for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They’re not plays, they’re not exactly concerts… these shows are something else entirely.

And for military folks — or folks who just want to raise a glass to them — please report to Heroes Tribute™ Lounge for great service. We know you guys like soft serve too, so we're throwing in a Swirls™ location — one of two! If "big" and "easy" sound about right for your vacation, you might just make theFrench Quarter on Mardi Gras® your home zone.

A few vessels are based on the West Coast as well as a couple in Australia. Since your huge Suite on Mardi Gras® affords you VIP status, you're in the priority line when getting on and off the ship… plus Suites come with exclusive perks! Ok, a few places — get ready for six distinct onboard zones featuring brand-new experiences for spectacularly getting down to food, drink and fun. As a professional traveler, it's not a huge surprise that one of my favorite public areas on the ship is the travel-themed The Gateway. The Latitudes Bar called my name with its seatbacks decorated with faux passport stamps and split-flap departure board signage.
